Survivor 47 Premiere "One Glorious and Perfect Episode" Gameplay Analysis

I'm a wolf in wolf's clothing." -Sam Phalen Survivor is back, baby!  Season 47 got off to a solid start, even if I am disappointed in the first elimination of the season.  I was really looking forward to see Jon get to play.  It's a bummer to see him out first and I also think it was a bad move.  Speaking of bad moves, let's get into who played well and who sucked. Who Played Well: Let's start over on the Lavo tribe.  Genevieve, Kishan, Sol, and Teeny all did well bonding with people and playing the social game.  We saw all of them bond with various people.  Some were over first impressions and general vibes, others were part of the potential anti-Rome alliance.  As of now, I think all of them have some sort of social safety net going into episode 2. Moving over to the Tuku tribe, TK ended up going on the journey for his tribe, which I don't love, but at least it was a game of rock, paper, scissors that sent him.  He missed out on some valuable bonding tim

Speak No Evil (2024) Review

"What is wrong with you?" -Louise Dalton While on vacation in Italy, the Dalton family befriends Paddy (James McAvoy), Ciara (Aisling Franciosi), and their son, Ant (Dan Hough).  Paddy invites the Daltons to visit their farm in the British countryside.  The Daltons agree to go, but the weekend getaway slowly becomes more and more uncomfortable and escaping the farm threatens to turn deadly. What Works: All of the actors give really great performances.  Both McAvoy and Franciosi have great chemistry and, especially in the early parts of the film, they do come across as a really likable and loving couple.  They're both very charming until they're not.  As the film goes on, both of their performances become more unhinged and they absolutely kill it.  I also really like Dan Hough's performance, especially since the character can't speak.  Hough still manages to give a memorable performance. Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy also do a great job, especially dealing

Community: Season 1, Episode 3 "Introduction to Film" Review

"And how 'bout I pound you like a boy!  That didn't come out right." -Troy Barnes "Introduction to Film" begins with Jeff (Joel McHale) enrolling in an accounting class that he has heard is an easy A.  The class is taught by Professor Whitman (John Michael Higgins), who doesn't have any tests or papers in his class, but they must learn how to "seize the day."  Jeff tells the rest of his study group about the class and most of them sign up, but Abed (Danny Pudi) says he can't because his father, Gobi (Iqbal Theba), will only pay for classes that will help Abed run the family falafel business.  Abed really wants to study film, so Britta (Gillian Jacobs) pays for Abed to enroll in a film class. In Professor Whitman's class, Jeff is called out by the Professor who can tell Jeff is a slacker with no intention of seizing the day.  He tells Jeff that he must genuinely seize the day by the end of the week or he will fail the class.  Jeff tries

It's that time again: The Snubby Awards!  For those of you who don't know, the Snubby Awards take a look at all of the Best Picture nominees from a given year and determine if the best film won or if another was snubbed.  If that's the case, they win the coveted Snubby Award! This time we'll be taking a look at the 1999 Oscars, which was a fine selection of movies.  All of them were good to really good, with one being in my Top 10 movies of all time.  The nominees were:  Elizabeth, Life is Beautiful, Saving Private Ryan, and The Thin Red Line  with the winner being  Shakespeare in Love .  Did  Shakespeare in Love  deserve to win or did another movie get snubbed?  Let's find out! #5. Life is Beautiful The story of a Jewish-Italian family that is sent to a concentration camp during World War II, this is a surprisingly funny movie that mostly focuses on the father of the family trying to shield his young son from the horrors of the camp by pretending the whole thing is

Community: Season 1, Episode 2 "Spanish 101" Review

"I am a Spanish genius!" -Señor Chang "Spanish 101" picks up with Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) purposely running late for his Spanish study group to avoid all the small talk at the beginning of their meetings.  When he does arrive, Britta (Gillian Jacobs) calls him out for being late.  Jeff tries to smooth things over with her, like he's managed to do with the rest of the group, but doesn't really get anywhere. In Spanish class, their instructor,  Señor Chang (Ken Jeong) randomly assigns them partners and tells them that they need to practice a set of Spanish phrases and present them to the class the next day.  Abed (Danny Pudi) and Britta are paired together, but Jeff tires to bribe Abed into switching with him.  Abed agrees in exchange for Jeff's shirt.  However, Britta also switches and Jeff ends up partnered with Pierce (Chevy Chase). When Britta brings up the Guatemalan government murdering journalists, it inspires Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) and An
