Survivor: Winners at War, Episode 12 "Friendly Fire" Gameplay Breakdown

"It was a failure, but it was fun."
-Tony Vlachos

We got another doozy of an episode from Survivor: Winners at War.  More crazy gamplay from Tony, an awesome Immunity Challenge, and more frantic whispers at Tribal Council, but how good was the gameplay?  Let's take a closer look!

Who Played Well:

Let's start with Jeremy, who somehow survived this round against all odds (and he really shouldn't have).  He has one heck of a social bond with Tony, which is what saved him.  He also got Michele to give him the 50/50 Coin, he eliminated Kim, and he at least tried to patch things up with Ben, even if it didn't go anywhere.

Tony was on fire, once again.  He won Immunity and it only cost him a Fire Token, he patched things up with Sarah and even offered to play his Idol on her, he saw Ben find the Idol, and eliminated his biggest threat in Kim.  I don't love that he told so many people about his Idol, but it seems to have worked out for him.

Sarah was way too angry with Tony, but it worked out in her favor with Tony working really hard to earn her trust back.  She also seemed to cool off the next day.  She helped eliminate Kim and prevented Tony from wasting his Idol on her.

Finally, Michele had a mixed night and I'm not really sure how she didn't end up on the right side of the vote, but her ally, Jeremy, survived the night and he knows that Michele has his back because she gave him the 50/50 coin.  She'll be fine.

Who Sucked:

Denise did a great job in the challenge and won Immunity, but she ended up on the wrong side of the vote and I really don't like the way she shut down Jeremy, especially because he is still in the game.

Ben had a horrible social game in regards to Jeremy.  You can't just not talk to someone like that.  Do you want his Jury Vote or not?  He was caught be two-faced by Tony, plus Nick no longer trusts him.  He also voted out Kim, which was a terrible move for him.  I don't think Ben can win, but he has a much better chance going to the end with Kim than Tony, Sarah, and Jeremy.  He did find an Idol, but Tony knows about it...

Finally, we have Nick who got caught in a lie by Tony and handled it horribly.  Plus I don't know why he ended up going with Tony's group.  It makes way more sense for him to go with Kim.  I don't think Nick can win anymore either.

As for Kim, she was 100% right in going after Tony.  I don't think she actually made a mistake in this episode, it was Ben and Nick.  I don't even fault her for stepping down for food.  I'm sure she was about to fall anyway and just wanted to get something out of this challenge.  Even if Kim were eligible to win my Worst Player of the Episode Award, she wouldn't get it.  It's not her fault the other players were stupid.

Verdict:

The Best Player of the Episode goes to Tony Vlachos for winning Immunity, catching Ben finding the Idol, catching Nick in a lie, saving Jeremy, patching things up with Sarah, and eliminating Kim.

The Worst Player of the Episode goes to Ben Driebergen for refusing to talk to Jeremy, getting caught being sneaky by Tony, and voting out Kim.

I can't believe Tony has made it to the Final 7 with an Idol in his pocket.  This is better than I ever could have dreamed.  Can he pull this miracle off?  God, I hope so.
