Survivor 45 Premiere "We Can Do Hard Things" Gameplay Analysis

"Sounds like a Leo, great." -Kendra McQuarrie I'm so excited to have Survivor back and it hit the ground running with an awesome premiere and what looks to be a disaster tribe.  It's been a minute since we've had one of these.  I'm hoping for Luzon or Matsing levels of disfunction.  In the meantime, we have to figure out who played well and who sucked, so let's take a closer look. Who Played Well: Let's start on the Belo tribe.  I really like that Katurah, Kellie, and Kendra all got into an alliance together.  Anything can be a basis to form an alliance, even just sharing the same birthday month.  They latched onto that and ran with it.  I also love that Katurah isn't telling people that she's a lawyer and that she was even asking Jake what it was like to be a lawyer. Let's move over to the Lulu tribe.  I don't love that Kaleb and Sabiyah volunteered to go do Savvy or Sweat, but at least it bonded them together.  It seems like they hav

"Replacing the quiet elegance of the dark suit and tie with the casual indifference of these muted earth tones is a form of fashion suicide, but, uh, call me crazy...on you it works." -Agent Albert Rosenfield "Slaves and Masters" picks up with Evelyn Marsh (Annette McCarthy) and Malcolm Sloan (Nicholas Love) talking to the police and blaming James Hurley (James Marshall) for the death of Evelyn's husband, though it's clear Evelyn feels guilty about what she is doing. James and Donna Hayward (Lara Flynn Boyle) discuss what their next move should be.  James believes that he can get through to Evelyn to clear his name.  Donna tries to talk to Evelyn first, but Malcolm interrupts and threatens to kill Donna if he sees her again.  James confronts Evelyn at her home, but Malcolm knocks him out and prepares to kill him.  Donna tries to stop him, but it's Evelyn who ends up shooting and killing Malcolm. Bobby Briggs (Dana Ashbrook) and Shelley Johnson (Mädchen

"It's okay to be scared.  I'm scared too." -Sister Irene Palmer Sometime after the events of the first movie, the demon Valak (Bonnie Aarons) has returned and is leaving a trail of bodies across Europe.  Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) is called upon by the church to once again face off against Valak and tracks it down to a boarding school in France only to learn Valek has processed her old friend, Maurice (Jonas Bloquet). What Works: Like in the last movie, all of the actors do a good job.  Farmiga and Bloquet have good chemistry not only with each other, but the new characters as well.  I also really like the performances of Anna Popplewell and Katelyn Rose Downey, who play the main characters at the boarding school.  They are all trying their best, they just aren't given enough to work with. The movie does have a few creepy moments and couple of solid kills.  It could have used some more gore, but the kill in the opening and one in an old chapel are both solid.

Twin Peaks: Season 2, Episode 14 "Double Play" Review

"I don't wanna talk.  I wanna shoot." -Mayor Dwayne Milford "Double Play" picks up with the investigation of the dead man found in the Twin Peaks sheriff's station.  Agent Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) guesses details of the cause of death before Dr. Hayward (Warren Frost) even finishes examining the body.  Cooper believes Windom Earle (Kenneth Welsh) is responsible and gives backstory to Sheriff Truman (Michael Ontkean).  Earle was Cooper's first partner and they were working a protection detail of a federal witness, Caroline (Brenda E. Mathers).  Cooper and Caroline fell in love, but Caroline was eventually killed.  Caroline was Earle's wife and Cooper believes Earle killed her.  Her cause of death was the same as the dead man. Major Briggs (Don Davis) visits the station and tells Cooper and Truman that he believes he was taken to the White Lodge when he disappeared. Mayor Dwayne Milford (John Boylan) arrives at the station with the intention of shooti
