Survivor: Winners at War, Episode 6 "Quick on the Draw" Analysis

"I want to throw up."
-Denise Stapley

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!

HOLY CRAP!  What an episode!  I don't know if I've ever been so blindsided watching an episode of Survivor.  I was so convinced Tony was going home that I never even considered Sandra being eliminated as an option.  This episode was amazing, but what about the gameplay?  Let's take a closer look.

Who Played Well:

Let's start over on Dakal.  We won't bury the lead here and start with Denise.  I liked how she turned on Jeremy when she was told that it was either him or her going out.  She also got an Idol from Sandra and it only cost her one fire token instead of two.  She saved herself with said Idol and blasted Sandra out of the game like a boss!  She technically wasted an Idol on Jeremy as well, but I get she was trying to ensure Sandra's elimination.  It might have been smarter to knock out Tony, but I still think this was a solid move.

Jeremy has had a good social game with Denise to the point where she played an Idol on him.  I also liked how he turned on Denise when he had to and held onto his Safety Without Power Advantage.

Kim made the right move in going after Denise even if the vote didn't go the way she expected.  She also held onto her Idol, a ballsy move.
Over on Sele, Nick and Yul made the right move in getting rid of Parvati.

On Yara, Ben bonded with Sophie and Sarah to ensure he isn't on the bottom of the tribe.

Who Sucked:

Back on Dakal, Tony made the right move in going after Denise, but very nearly got himself voted out with his spy shack antics.  I don't know what he was thinking disappearing for so long.  He sketched out his allies and needs to chill out and play it cool like he has been so far.

On Sele, Michele was on the wrong side of the vote.  It's probably not a big deal, but throwing a vote on Parvati can't hurt.

Wendell was on the right side of the vote, but his general demeanor was off.  He rubbed Michele and Parvati the wrong way with his behavior, that's for sure.  He also probably shouldn't have been so honest about his willingness to stab his allies.

We really didn't get enough of Adam, Sarah, and Sophie in this episode for me to say either way.

Parvati was in a tough spot, but probably should have flipped on Michele.  She also could have gambled with Wendell's fire token offer, even though I'm pretty certain he would have simply voted her out anyway.  She also should have given him a name at Tribal Council.  It probably wouldn't have worked, but she needed to at least try.

As for Sandra, I loved how she figured out what Tony was up to, but she definitely got too cute trying to knock Tony out of the game.  Just play the Idol on yourself!  Play it safe until the merge!

Verdict:

Since two people were voted out, I'm going to give out two Best Player of the Episode Awards.  The first goes to Denise Stapley for being willing to turn on Jeremy, getting an Idol from Sandra and using it to eliminate her, and only losing one fire token in the process.

The second goes to Jeremy Collins for being willing to turn on Denise, holding onto his Advantage, and getting Denise to play an Idol on him.

I'm also giving out two Worst Player of the Episode Awards (not including the players that were eliminated).  The first goes to Tony Vlachos for his erratic behavior and spending his time in the Spy Shack instead of scheming and plotting.

The second goes to Wendell Holland for his poor social game and being too honest at Tribal Council.

What an amazing episode in an already amazing season.  I'm not even upset with losing two legends.  The episode was so entertaining that I don't care.  Keep it up Winners at War
