Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans, Episode 9 "I Deserve All of This" Gameplay Breakdown

"Who made this challenge!?  This is barbaric!"
-Jeff Probst

Jimmy Fallon sucks.  And his idea for Survivor 50 was also bad.  I enjoyed most of this episode.  I loved Jeff competing in a challenge and the puzzle being yoinked into the sea was wonderful.  If only Jimmy Fallon hadn't helped take down one of my favorite players.  Anyway, let's get into who played well and who sucked...besides Jimmy Fallon.

Who Played Well:

Both Aubry and Jonathan did a good job in taking out Christian, though I do think Devens should have been the primary target of the split vote instead of Christian.  However, Christian was still a huge threat and taking him out is a good move.  The two of them could really help each other out and I like how Aubry is distancing herself from Devens.

Devens' play at last week's tribal council had some nasty blowback, but I still think it was a move he had to do.  Now he just has to weather the storm and he did that this episode.  Sure, his plan didn't work, but, somehow, he survived the vote.

Cirie did a fantastic job of protecting Ozzy and taking out Christian.  It really is insane how good she is.  No one is even looking her direction at it's incredible to watch unfold.

Finally, taking out Christian is also good for Ozzy, Stephenie, Rizo, and Tiffany, even if Devens would have been the better target.

Who Sucked:

Joe may have won Immunity and helped take out Christian, but he made a foolish decision in letting Christian go on the Journey.  Jonathan volunteered.  Send your buddy.  Don't leave it up to chance.  He was also frosty during a conversation with Christian.  He can win a Challenge, but he isn't setting himself up for a win.

Emily is, indeed, messy.  She tried to target Ozzy by scheming with his number 1, Cirie, which almost cost her the game.  Her plan failed and she got into a stupid argument with Cirie over rice.  She isn't acting like a returning player and I fully regret making her my Day 1 winner pick.

As for Christian, he also shouldn't have brought Ozzy up as a target to Cirie.  He, Emily, Cirie, and Ozzy are all original Cila.  They should know better.  Christian has played a hard game, maybe too hard.  He's had a massive target on his back from the start and only managed to make it bigger.  That's the kind of game where you can't make a mistake, and he did.  Even without Jimmy Fallon, I think he was probably gonzo here.  He was just too much of a wild card with an alliance full of wild cards.  One of him and Devens had to go.

Verdict:

Best Player of the Episode goes to Cirie Fields for her cool gameplay in taking out Christian and protecting Ozzy.

Worst Player of the Episode goes to Emily Flippen for telling Cirie that she wanted Ozzy out, her plan failing miserably, and arguing with Cirie about rice.

I predict Devens is the next to fall, but maybe this Mr. Beast advantage will save him.  I hope it's not too stupid.  Fingers crossed.
