"I don't think we actually did anything.  It just cut to the next morning." -Natalie Natalie (Rebel Wilson) doesn't like romantic-comedies and has no time for a relationship.  After being knocked unconscious during a mugging, Natalie wakes up to find her world has turned into a rom-com.  Much to her displeasure, Natalie has to get a man to fall in love with her if she ever wants to get her life back to normal. What Works: I actually love the premise of Isn't It Romantic .  As someone who doesn't like romantic-comedies, being trapped in one would be my worst nightmare.  The scenes where Natalie wants out of the madness are by far the best of the film and actually really funny. The comedy is pretty hit-and-miss, but the stuff that works is really good.  Most of the good stuff comes from the jokes made at the expense of rom-com tropes.  I think people who don't like rom-coms and those that do will both find these jokes funny. ...

"Garbage day!" -Ricky Caldwell After his older brother's killing spree in the original film, Ricky Caldwell (Eric Freeman) finds himself in a mental institution after going on a similar killing spree.  After Ricky tells his story, he finds a way to break out and sets off to find the woman he blames for what happened to him and his brother, Mother Superior (Jean Miller), and attempts to make this Christmas her last. What Works: The only reason  Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 is at all watchable is because of Eric Freeman.  He gives an over-the-top and bonkers performance.  Every time he is delivering lines of dialogue, this movie is fun.  There's the famous "Garbage Day!" meme, but that isn't the only moment where Freeman shines. "I'm not sleeping in my car again.  It smells like Hot Pockets and feet." -Ryan Phan It's Tree Gelbman's (Jessica Rothe) birthday, but it's no cause for celebration.  At the end of the day, Tree ends up getting murdered by a masked killer only to wake up at the start of her birthday again.  Forced to live the same day over and over again, Tree has no choice but to try and figure out who her killer is and stop them before the repeated deaths take too much of a toll on her body for her to come back again. What Works: I love the premise for this movie.  It's Groundhog Day meets Scream .  That's an awesome combination and it works very well.  I'm shocked this movie was ever made.  The humor is great and the whodunnit elements are very well done.  This premise allowed the filmmakers to get very creative with their storytelling and they executed on this very well. "Mommy, what's wrong with me?" -Miles Miles (Jackson Robert Scott) is a boy genius, but has a few violence issues.  After he attacks another boy, Miles' mother, Sarah (Taylor Shilling), decides to get him help.  She discovers that Miles was born at the exact date and time a notorious serial killer was killed in a police raid.  Somehow, this monster's soul shares Miles' body and Sarah has to find a way to save her son before the killer takes over completely. What Works: All of the performances are solid all around.  Both Tylor Schilling and Peter Mooney do a good job as the confused and distraught parents.  Their reactions to Miles' behavior make total sense and they have good chemistry.  As far as kid actors go, Jackson Robert Scott does a fine job and gets some fun moments when he delivers some ridiculously obscene dialogue.  I also enjoyed Colm Feore as the specialist they bring in to help Miles.  His response to Mile...

"I read it in a crime novel." -Nels Coxman Nels Coxman (Liam Neeson) works as a snowplow driver in a small mountain town in Colorado.  After his son dies of an apparent drug overdoes, Nels believes there is more to the story and starts investigating.  He discovers a drug lord known as Viking (Tom Bateman) is responsible for the death of his son, so Nels declares war on Viking's organization and inadvertently causes a turf war between two drug gangs in his small town. What Works: I went into Cold Pursuit thinking it would be Taken in the Rocky Mountains, but that's not what this movie is.  It's much more similar to Fargo , both the movie and the show.  Sure, there are action scenes, but there aren't as many as I expected.  It's more of a dark comedy than anything.  It's not a bad thing.  I really enjoyed the film, it just caught me off guard. With the release of The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, I figured now was as good a time as any to do a ranking of the four Lego Movies .  Let me start off by saying I love all four of these films.  All of them are awesome, some are just more awesome than others.  So let's rank them from least awesome to most awesome. #4. The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) This is definitely the black sheep of the Lego series having no connection to the other films and receiving very mixed reviews when compared to the other three films.  Well I agree this is the weakest of the four, I think it's extremely underrated.  It has the same creative energy the other films had, it has the best villain in Justin Theroux's Lord Garmadon, Jackie Chan and Dave Franco are both great, and a it has a live-action cat destroying the city.  It also has the most powerful emotional moment in the series between Lloyd and Garmadon.  Not all of the cast is utilized well and the 3rd act ...

"That's why the Red Sox will never win the damn Series." -Christian Shephard The 16th episode of Lost begins with a flashback to when Sawyer (Josh Holloway) was a kid and witnesses his father murder his mother before killing himself.  Years later, Sawyer is approached by an old associate, Hibbs (Robert Patrick), who has found the man who conned Sawyer's parents.  His name is Frank Duckett (Jeff Perry) and he lives in Australia.  Sawyer travels down under and finds Frank with the intention of killing him, but he chickens out and goes to drink at a bar, where he meets Christian Shepard (John Terry), who reveals he is proud of Jack (Matthew Fox) for ratting on him.   Christian encourages Sawyer to do what he needs to do to end his suffering.  Sawyer goes back and shoots Frank and starts to read the letter he wrote when he was a kid.  However, Frank has no idea what Sawyer is talking about.  He simply owed Hibbs money.  Hibbs tric...
