Survivor: Ghost Island: Episode 7 "Gotta Risk It for the Biscuit" Review

"I'm such a wimp."
-Kellyn Bechtold

Who Played Well:

Let's start with the curse-reversers over on Malolo.  First off, we have my girl, Kellyn.  Back at Ghost Island, I think she made the right call going for the advantage.  Not only did she have a 67% chance at guessing correctly, but even if the worst happened and she lost her vote, and they lost the next challenge, it wouldn't matter too much.  They would still vote 2-1 for Michael, most likely, and he would have played his idol.  Two votes or three votes, it doesn't really mater here.  So Kellyn made the right move and it paid off and now she has an extra vote.

Moving on to Michael.  He put the effort it and found himself a f***ing stick that is also an idol.  Plus he killed it in the Immunity Challenge.  Not only did he save himself, but he gets to go into the merge with an idol.

Over at Naviti, I gotta give props to both Donathan and Libby.  They played the social game well by bonding with Domenick and Chelsea over their dislike of Bradley.  They capitalized on Bradley's bad gameplay and got Domenick and Chelsea to make a bad move that worked in Donathan and Libby's favor.

At Yanuya, Wendell chose the right time, when everyone was lethargic after they feast, to go off and find an idol.  Wendell was already a dangerous player, but I think now he's the odds-on favorite to win.

Who Sucked:

The only tribe we need to stop at here is Naviti.  I think both Domenick and Chelsea made the wrong move in voting out Bradley.  Bradley is a whiny-jerk, who plays the game super logically; AKA, the perfect ally.  Everybody hates his guts and wants him to go away, which would take the target off Chelsea and especially Domenick.  He's the perfect guy to take to the end.  He will not win, period.  He's only going to make logical decisions, so he's predictable.  He is the perfect ally.  Whereas Libby has proven herself to be a dangerous player, plus she has a social game.  Bad move for Domenick and Chelsea.

Angela, Desiree, and Chris really did do anything.  And we didn't see Sebastian, Laura, or Jenna at all.

Finally, let's talk about Bradley.  The guy needs to work on his self-awarness as well as his attitude.  People don't like negative people.  He needed to follow the saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".  All the strategy in the world won't win you the game if you're a jerk.  I don't think he should have gone home at this spot, but if he had a better social game, he wouldn't have.

Verdict:

The "Stacy's Blog Has Got It Going On Award" goes to Michael Yerger for his challenge performance and finding the idol.

The "Not The Player For Me Award" goes to Domenick Abbate.  Both he and Chelsea made the wrong move, but I think this will be more damaging to Domenick's game, as Chelsea will probably be able to keep flying under the radar.  Plus, the Immunity Challenge loss is probably mostly Domenick's fault.

It was great to see Bradley's downfall, but I wish he was still in the game.  He's a much more entertaining player than Libby.  Still loving this season.
