Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 9 "The Sea Slug Slugger" Review

"Gagerriffic, bro."
-Sebastian Noel

I wasn't expecting much from this episode compared to last week's epic showdown, but I am pleased to announce that this episode did not disappoint!

Who Played Well:

We'll start off with someone who really surprised me by turning their game around, Angela.  She had a great week.  She not only won Immunity in epic fashion, she realized she wasn't in a great spot and took action by throwing Michael under the bus and getting him to flush his idol.  Really great gameplay from Angela this week.

We can talk about Chelsea, Desiree, Domenick, Kellyn, and Sebastian all in one spot here.  They all did their jobs well and were key pieces in the Michael/Libby vote.  The extent that their influences played in a part in this vote definitely differs, but they all did a good job nonetheless.

Finally, we have Donathan and Laurel, who I believe made the right move.  I think taking out Wendell would have been too big a move at this point in the game. They will have to turn on Wendell eventually, but for now, he's their in into the Naviti alliance.

Who Sucked:

We'll start with Michael, who was right on the money with trying to make Wendell the target.  He just made the mistake of trusting Angela, who simply can't be trusted.  You never know what she's gonna do.  That said, Michael did a good job realizing he was the target and saving himself with his f***ing stick, but now he's vulnerable and will need a miracle to win this game.

As for Wendell, through he was a part of the Michael/Libby split, he is making himself too much of a threat.  He has his idol, but he needs to find a way to fade into the background for awhile.  Plus, he gave waaaaayyyyy too much information to Laurel.  Keep some cards close to the vest.

Jenna didn't really do anything.

As for Libby, she needed to make a move.  She's known she has been in a dangerous position for a few weeks now.  She received votes at the last Tribal Council.  She knows people are coming for her. If anyone needed to make a big move, it's Libby.  She should have pushed harder for the Malolo alliance to take out Wendell.  I don't know if she could have pulled it off, but she needed to try something.

Verdict:

The "Stacy's Blog Has Got It Going On Award" this week goes to Angela Perkins for finally coming out of her shell, playing the game, throwing Michael under the bus, and winning Immunity.

The "Not The Player For Me Award" goes to Wendell Holland for giving too much information to Laurel and for making himself too much of a threat.

Another solid episode, and I'm glad Libby went home instead of Michael or Wendell.  They are both much more interesting TV than she is.
